Management contracts

abertis airports participates, through TBI, in the management of five airports in America (Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta –Georgia-, Burbank Glendale Pasadena –California-, Middle Regional Georgia –Georgia-, Herbert Smart Downtown –Georgia- and Raleigh-Durham –North Carolina-).

Through this system, abertis airports offers its services to those airports controlled by local authorities and which do not have either the sufficient financing or knowledge to manage, totally or partially, a complex airport installation in an efficient and profitable way.

  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (Georgia, U.S.A.): In 2004, with 84 million passengers, it became the airport with the most traffic in the world. More than 10 million passengers used the terminal – managed by TBI– for international companies (Concourse E), which has 28 boarding gates and the FIDS Flight Information Display System throughout the airport. Atlanta airport occupies 1,500 hectares, on which it has four runways (the longest being 3,600 metres long) and six terminals and satellites.
  • Bob Hope Burbank (California, U.S.A.): Located in the south of the state of California, between the towns of Pasadena, Burbank and Glendale, it is mainly used for regional traffic on the North American west coast, but it also boasts major connections to international hub airports. More than 6.5 million passengers pass through its installations annually.
  • Middle Regional Georgia (Georgia, U.S.A.): Located in the centre of the state of Georgia, around 150 kilometres from Atlanta, this is a commercial airport with a great potential for growth. It has two runways and provides services to more than 30,000 passengers annually.
  • Herbert Smart Downtown (Georgia, U.S.A.): This is a general aviation airport that has two runways and basically provides services to private flights using corporate jets.
  • Raleigh-Durham International Airport (North Carolina, U.S.A.): with more than 10 million passengers in 2007, it is currently developing a new terminal (Terminal C) that will treble the size of the airport.
