In 1997, tbi won the concession to manage the three largest airports in the country: El Alto - La Paz, Viru Viru - Santa Cruz and J. Wilstermann - Cochabamba.
The orographic problem and the lack of access to the sea means that air connections and airport infrastructure are very important for the economy of this country of 9 million inhabitants.

Santa Cruz:- The main companies that operate out of La Paz airport are American Airlines, Aerosur, Lan Chile, Lan Peru, TACA, Amazonas and Aerocon. International links connect it to the main South American capitals, to Mexico and to Miami, gateway to the United States.
- The majority of the flights at Viru Viru - Santa Cruz are domestic, although there is also international traffic operated by American Airlines, Aerosur, Lan Chile, Aerolíneas Argentinas, Gol, TAM, Mercosur and Lan Peru.
- J. Wilstermann - Cochabamba airport is used by the companies Aerosur, TAM, Mercosur, Aerocon, TAM Militar and BOA, which offer domestic and international flights.
- El Alto, the airport in the capital of Bolivia (La Paz), has a total area of 600 hectares and has two runways, one 4,000 metres long and the other 2,000 metres long, as well as a terminal building of 5.000 m2. Located 4,058 metres above sea level, it has the capacity to operate 24 hours a day.
- Viru Viru - The Santa Cruz airport occupies a total area of 2,300 hectares and has a runway 3,500 metres long and a terminal building of 15,000 m2.
- J. Wilstermann - The Cochabamba airport, located 2,548 metres above sea level, has an area of 290 hectares and two runways, 2,650 metres long and 3,800 metres long respectively. The terminal building has an area of 10,000 m2 and operates 24 hours a day.
