Belfast International

tbi acquired Belfast International airport in 1996, two years after its privatization. The airport, at its current location, opened its installations in 1963, transferring airport activity from the nearby Nutts Corner airport at Aldergrove, since the new one featured better weather conditions and had more available space to carry out future renovations.

Belfast International allows aircraft movements 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Approximately 80,000 air transport movements take place each year. It is estimated that in 2030 around 12 million passengers will pass through its installations.

How to get there

Belfast International Airport is located centrally within Northern Ireland and is also convenient to the border regions of the Republic of Ireland. Belfast city centre is just 20 minutes away by car, whilst the historical city of Londonderry in the North West is approx 1hr 25 minutes away by car.

Car hire is advisable for visitors who wish to travel around Northern Ireland, and there are five car hire desks located in the arrivals hall, all of which are open for all inbound flights.
